With a population about 18,000, the Jinuo people mainly live in compact communities in the Jinuo Mountain area in Jinghong County of Yunnan Province.

The Jinuo Village is connected with the Wa Village and Bulang Village by a bridge. When entering the village, you can see green trees and flowers are dotted with jagged rocks of grotesque shapes and thatched houses of the Jinuos are well arranged as if you had entered the undulating Jinuo Mountain area. Built in the Junuo Village are the large public house, the folk residence house, the granary and the Sun Square of the Jinuo people.

The Jinuo people are good at singing and dancing and they have rich culture. On the Sun Square reflecting the Jinuo’s sun worship, you can watch the jubilant and fervent Sun-drum Dance. The drum sound is vigorous and profound and the dance is lively. This drum dance is the most featured activity of the Jinuo people.
